New album by Kovitch “Simplifica”
Kovitch is a singer from Vallès Occidental (Barcelona). He started writing rap lyrics in 2007, when he was only fourteen years old, and since then he has founded several formations with which he has published numerous references. The rapper's style includes the heritage of more melodic hip hop and R&B, drinking from the American, national and French scene. His lyrics are vindictive, with values and personal experiences. Currently, he experiments with urban sounds of African and Jamaican roots such as Afrobeat or dancehall. As a member of Homes Llúdriga, a group now dissolved, they published several works, which, despite being self-published, were very well received, leading them to perform at renowned venues and festivals in Catalonia, Valencian Country, the Balearic Islands and Andorra. They made the iCat song of the summer, participated in the viral macro-collaboration 'Los Borbones son unos ladrones' and played in 'Les de l'hoquei' (Netflix). The Valais MC has collaborated with artists such as ZOO, Los Chikos del Maíz, Sr. Wilson, Valtonyc, Senyor Oca, Las Bajas Pasiones, Charly Efe, Sombra Alor or Erick Hervé, among many others. He was one of the promoters of the first compilation of rap in Catalan, 'Rap de la Terra Vol. 1' (2018), and has performed a handful of concerts to this day. In 2021 he published 'Flâneur', an EP that was ranked by music critics as one of the best of the year and was a semi-finalist in the 'MIN 2021' awards. Now he presents 'Simplifica', a new album by the Delirics label, which he will present live at Sala Apolo at the end of June. It is an album that includes 10 songs with constructed lyrics and with a simple message: do the things that fill you because yes, allocate energy to what is born from within you. As for the sound, the producers Yaron Hurter and Pau Escutia have played with trap, brushstrokes of drill, the most classic boom bap in the interlude 'Take 1', dancehall on tracks like 'Foc i fum' - where ·make Las Bajas Pasiones- and even bolder bets like the rhythm of cumbia and salsa in 'Escolta', their latest advance. The guitar arrangements, present throughout the work, are by UnderResistanz. The mastering was done by Mr. Mad, while the video clips were made by Pol Fuentes, and a fourth by Bárbara Izquierdo. An album that has outstanding tracks such as 'Al teu costat', a full-fledged love song where the singer makes a clear and obvious sentimental statement, which transports us to the sea and summer, with a more urban pop rhythm and funk A song to healthy sex-affective relationships!
