Neisha is an artist full of sensitivity, flow and sensuality. To the rhythm of reggaeton, dancehall and melodic trap, the Barcelona artist takes you to another level with her music… genres with little starring in Catalan and less, led by a woman. Neisha became known in 2016 with the group Crimen Pasional, the first reggaetón group in Catalan, and she has already performed in venues such as Sala Apolo and Sidecar, among others. Her music has even crossed borders until she reached Berlin for an NTS x Adidas party.
In 2021, Neisha published her first solo project, the EP ‘Dolcesa Bruna’, on Sant Jordi’s day (April 23). An audiovisual proposal that, through three pieces of Catalan poems from different periods and authorships, manages to embrace Catalan culture, reggaeton and dancehall. ‘Rosa als llavis’, one of the songs on the album, was a finalist at the 25th Edition of the Miquel Martí i Pol Awards. ‘Anime en català’ is the new album that was presented last April by the Delirics label, where the aesthetics are clearly influenced by ‘anime’ and ‘manga’, exploring its ‘kawaii’ face without hiding its more erotic or ‘hentai’ side. He already made a first preview with the romantic bachata ‘Estira-i-arronsa’, with ‘Piscis’, where Lil Guiu, a member of the P.A.W.N GANG, collaborates and the latest preview, ‘One Piece/EVA’, an animated and danceable dancehall that He proposed an intimate date.
This album is a journey of internal emotions through a mutation of the “I”. The new hyper-humanized Neisha is now a “semi-anime persona” in a constant battle against her own dehumanization. In ‘Anime en català’, Neisha allows herself for the first time to be an emotional and sensitive girl who partially lives between the metaphysical world and reality, shaping this “Hyper Neisha” as a heroine, fighter, savior, but mainly sensitive and childish. . The “Hyper Neisha” searches for this new childhood in the present and builds and awakens a new super power called nostalgia.
The success of ‘Anime en català’ is already leading her to perform at festivals such as Strenes Urbana, sharing the stage with artists such as Mushkaa, Sofía Gabanna, Scorpio, Flashy Ice Cream or Bounce Twice and soon also at Festigàbal, alongside artists such as Mainline Magic Orchestra or Renaldo & Clara.
She now presents ‘Ai Ui’, a dembow that encourages going out dancing, cooling off – even with water pistols – and expressing herself from her body. A genre rarely seen in Catalan and in this case, made with great care and knowledge by Neisha (Catalan) and Eurowitch (artist with Venezuelan origins). ‘Ai Ui’ honors dembow, a genre originating in the Dominican Republic, where public life and entertainment usually take place on the street, with few resources and a lot of optimism.
With a unique and incomparable style, Neisha transports you to another world with her music… and now more than ever, to refresh yourself this summer, don’t miss her latest release ‘Ai Ui’!
