Mostassa
Mostassa
"Mostassa is a rock/pop band in Catalan that appeared by chance, accidental encounters in bars and coming from different musical bands. The band starts working in October 2015, making the music they like the most.
It should be noted that it was born combining the melodic compositions of Eduard Fernàndez, guitar, with the character and attitude of the voice of Guillem Gené (Els cecs d’Esterri, William Taylor & Co).
“Mostassa”, the debut EP of the band, was released in the spring of 2016. An EP of three songs and a whole declaration of intentions. The influences of the band are present, but there is a distinct musical identity and personality.
The first songs already represent a springboard for the band. They get a place in the concert of the night of Sant Joan in Valls, sharing the stage with Smoking Souls, Dr. Calypso and the Gran Pegatina. In the autumn of 2016 and only with a year of trajectory, the band wins the D.O. TGN award.
With its first album, ‘El que vam ser’, Mostassa also wins the XTV TAC12 contest, with the song ‘El sol’, and is proclaimed winner of the 2017 Reussona edition.
Musically, Mostassa contributes with a sonority less explored in the Catalan panorama. A selection of original and quality songs, without stylistic taboos. It can remember bands like Radiohead or Muse among others.
With rich and tense melodies as in ‘NO’. Others like ‘Ras i curt’ or ‘Records’ that can remember bands like Muse and other songs with a more acoustic instrumentation like ‘Semper feliç’.
Sincere and careful lyrics also tell us a great variety of stories, speaking with a clear and direct poetry of victory, defeat, hope and despair."
