Sexenni & Yung Rajola release new single "Avall lo paper".

Sexenni, the band from Lleida and one of the most promising breakout acts in the Catalan music scene, presents "Avall lo paper", their new single featuring Yung Rajola. The song is a festive and carefree rumba that celebrates the popular spirit and rural imagination of the Terres de Ponent.

Sexenni has already become one of the fastest-growing surprises on the scene. They’ve performed on stages such as MMVV, ELS40 and Cadena 100 at Barcelona’s Festes de la Mercè, festivals like Acampada Jove, and venues like Razzmatazz and Sala Apolo (1), where they recently presented their third studio album, “Joc de nens”, to great success.

Now they return with “Avall lo paper”, a single that tells the wild story of a village grandfather, Macot, who one day gathered the entire town of Alguaire to jump off the Sacred Heart monument while shouting “Avall lo paper!” A hilarious scene that becomes a metaphor for the most authentic Lleida identity—full of irony and proud rural spirit.

Sexenni and Yung Rajola reunite five years after their first collaboration on “Crema Catalana”, one of the band’s early tracks. This time, they do it in rumba style, a genre they reclaim as part of Lleida’s musical heritage, with nods to figures like Lo Parrano, Lo Beethoven, the traditional Garrotíns, and Lo Gitano de Balaguer.

This release comes at the start of May, a festive month in Lleida: Festa Major on the second weekend, followed two weeks later by Aplec del Caragol, one of the country’s most important gastronomic and cultural celebrations. Sexenni will perform live at home, presenting their third album "Joc de nens."

This new album is a childlike take on adult life—a return to innocence and spontaneity through the band’s signature festive, irreverent, and energetic pop. Following the success of their albums “Retrats” (Delirics, 2022) and “Supernova” (Delirics, 2023), Sexenni proves they can keep evolving without losing their essence.

With a meteoric trajectory that has led them to collaborate on this latest album with artists such as The Tyets, Ginestà, Flashy Ice Cream, DJ Trapella, and Santi Balmes (Love of Lesbian), Sexenni strengthens their momentum with a new offering full of humour, roots, and celebration.

“Avall lo paper” is now available on all digital platforms. This May, in Lleida, the party starts with rumba!
