The Barcelona-based duo Iglú, formed by Marc Gelabert and Marc Hampshire, presents El Refugi, their third studio album. With this new work, the group takes a sonic and emotional turn toward a more mature, introspective, and powerful indie pop sound. The lyrics of El Refugi speak of growing up, love, and the search for one’s own place in the world — with a raw, direct energy that resonates with a generation in constant growth and transformation.
Produced entirely from their bedroom in Barcelona’s Eixample district and supported by the label Delirics, Iglú blends influences from British indie, bedroom pop, and Catalan synth-pop, resulting in a personal and distinctive sound. References such as Coldplay, U2, or The 1975 coexist with a unique identity that has led them to perform at festivals like La Mercè, the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, Festival Porta Ferrada, and SOM de Mar, sharing stages with artists like Manel and Ferran Palau.

As a preview of the album, Iglú releases the double single “Tu i Jo – Serem l’Aire”, two contrasting tracks that showcase the album’s versatility. “Tu i Jo” is an energetic piece exploring the emotional intensity of relationships that both captivate and consume, while “Serem l’Aire” opts for a more intimate, atmospheric sound with psychedelic touches reminiscent of Tame Impala.
This double release adds to previous singles such as “Pensar en nosaltres” and “Estic Fart” (featuring Xicu), solidifying the sonic path Iglú continues to forge with El Refugi.
With more than six years of shared trajectory, Iglú has become one of the most distinctive and beloved acts in the new Catalan music scene. El Refugi stands as a key milestone that reaffirms their commitment to honest, emotional, and generational music.
