Two Sides of the Same Feeling: Iglú Presents the Double Single Tu i Jo – Serem l’Aire

Iglú, the project of friends Marc Gelabert and Marc Hampshire, has found its voice after more than six years together, blending British indie, bedroom pop, and synth pop sung in Catalan. From their room in Barcelona’s Eixample district, they self-produce their music with the support of the Delirics label, handling every part of the creative process—from songwriting to production and visuals.

With influences ranging from Coldplay and U2 to The 1975, Iglú has performed at major festivals such as Festes de la Mercè, Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, Festival Porta Ferrada, and SOM de Mar, among others, sharing the stage with renowned acts like Manel and Ferran Palau.

Now, the Barcelona-based duo releases Tu i Jo – Serem l’Aire, a new double single previewing their much-anticipated third album, El Refugi. This release reveals two contrasting sides that showcase the group’s sonic versatility and hint at the musical direction of the forthcoming LP.

Tu i Jo, energetic, electronic, and fast-paced, embraces a raw, direct, and visceral sound, reflecting the darker and more mature side of the project. It explores the intensity of certain emotional bonds that oscillate between attraction and self-destruction—those relationships that, even when they hurt us, still trap us and are hard to let go of.

In contrast, Serem l’Aire opts for calm and intimacy, building from an acoustic atmosphere into a psychedelic chant reminiscent of Tame Impala, revealing another dimension of Iglú—more contemplative, yet equally powerful.

With lyrical and sonic strength that captivates from the very first listen, this double single clearly reflects the stylistic and emotional evolution Iglú embarks on with El Refugi.

After releasing previous singles such as Pensar en nosaltres and Estic Fart (featuring Xicu), and with two albums, collaborations with artists like Lluc, Poggioli, Roserona, and Massaviu, among others, and songs that continue to win over new listeners, Iglú has become one of the most distinctive and beloved voices in Catalonia’s emerging music scene—a status they are set to reaffirm with their upcoming album El Refugi, soon to see the light.
